Truisms In Support Of Abolishment Of Anti-Constitutional Prohibition Laws

If the pot laws bring in the business, then it's up to someone else to change the law . Criminal attorney's make a living defending client's charged with drug crimes, it's just good business .

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
The criminalization of ever larger numbers of Americans does not help "to form a more perfect union".
That same criminalization does not "establish justice". In fact it is doing great harm to the establishments of justice in America. Respect for the rule of law has never been lower in America.
Well funded street gangs with international connections thanks to the drug prohibition diminishes rather than "insure domestic tranquility".
According to U.S. military and drug intelligence experts more than 35% of the stateless terrorist armies and groups that plague the free world are funded with prohibition dollars. The Taliban get 70% of their funding from the heroin market that is protected by prohibition. Support for the drug war is a direct military attack on America's common defense. rather than "provid(ing) for the common defense".
Addicts and gangsters selling drugs tax free and without social and regulatory restraint to all comers does anything but "promote the general welfare".
"secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity". There is no real political or social liberty for the ever growing millions who are criminalized by prohibition. The New York Times defined this group as a "sub-caste" of Americans more than 16,000,000 strong and growing by hundreds of thousands each and every year.
The war on drugs is the erosion of American constitutional values and the subversion of our democratic institutions. That is the drug war's only real purpose.
